Descrição
Resumo:This paper presents the results of an experimental study carried out to evaluate the behaviour of residual soil-geosynthetic interfaces on slopes. To this end, a series of inclined plane shear tests was conducted according to EN ISO 12957-2:2004. The influence of the soil moisture content on the interfaces behaviour was analysed using soil samples with different moisture conditions: dry, half of the optimum soil moisture content and optimum soil moisture content. Three distinct geosynthetics were used: a nonwoven geotextile, a uniaxial geocomposite reinforcement and an extruded uniaxial geogrid. The inclined plane test results were analysed through a new approach based on the interface shear strength envelope. This study allowed to conclude that the influence of the soil moisture content is relevant for the interfaces involving the geotextile and the geocomposite reinforcement, insofar as their resistance decreased with the increase of the soil moisture content. In the case of the soil-geogrid interface, only for the highest soil moisture content a slight reduction of the interface friction angle was observed.
