Resumo:The medieval Portuguese city displayed a multiplicity of structures and equipment necessary for the subsistence of its inhabitants, that gave them a plural landscape where rural and urban elements lived together. In this paper, we argue on the elements denouncing this situation and explore how it would materialize in Coimbra and how it was framed by the national context of the time. Based on the latest works about this town, and the set of documents published on them, we make an interpretation of the landscape, going through its parishes in the 13th and 14th centuries; we do not focus on its repeated and usual housing equipment, but on other functional and utilitarian structures that made up its urbanistic and social-economic network.
