Summary:This chapter describes a set of technologies (projects and scientific works) with relevance in care and medical monitoring for application outside the clinical context. The number of older people continues to increase and with it the increase in the number of people with chronic diseases. In order to reduce costs in health care, solutions emerged such as information and communication technologies (ICTs). All these solutions, in the context presented here, can encompass up in an area called the ambient assisted living(AAL). This area presents innovative solutions that improve the quality of life of these people. In this chapter, we made a collection of projects and works with scientific relevance in this application area. The distribution of these publications was divided into two topics: home care technology and free living technology. This bibliographic collection is the state of the art of monitoring and assisted therapeutic technology for the AAL.
