Description
Summary:This paper is focused on gender, media and information and communication technologies (ICTs). Through the analysis of relevant policy documents about the media, the access to and use of ICTs adopted by European institutional players in the last twenty years, we identify and discuss the presence of gender-focused principles and the media dimensions they targeted. By analysing what was deemed important to promote equality and diversity, we highlight the relatively poor integration of specific gender focused policy intervention and discuss how this relates to the progress achieved in the gender and diversity domain.
