Resumo: | The aim of this article is to study the patrimonial policies and strategies for territorial consolidation of the bishops of Porto after the final restoration of the See in 1112-1114, following the arrival from Compostela of Bishop Hugo. This work focuses on the second phase of expansion of the see in the twelfth century, after first attempts to establish its borders by Bishops Hugo and Joao Peculiar before his transfer to the see of Braga. This article studies the patrimonial policies of Bishops Pedro (I) Rabaldes, Pedro (II) Pitoes, Pedro (III) Senior, Fernando Martins, Martinho Pires during the periods of the formation of Kingdom of Portugal and the expansion papal authority in the Northwestern Iberian Peninsula.
