Resumo: | The importance given to the phenomenon of globalization has risen in the past years due to the impact that it has in countries, organizations and people’s lives. In this sense, economic globalization is an important issue to debate and different kind of measurements increase the knowledge around this phenomenon. Even though the economic globalization is a topic of great importance, in the literature review we can conclude that even with so many kind of measurements, we didn’t find any that covers the economic globalization as a whole (migration, trade and tourism) and that measures globalization as an interaction between countries. Therefore, this thesis aims to fill this gap in the measurement of economic globalization. For this purpose, we developed several indicators that provide a view about the economic globalization in countries taking into account aspects as: the flows, the distance, the equilibrium and the volume. To include the interaction between countries, and to give more precision in terms of globalization analysis, we used bilateral databases. The results of the analysis point to an increase in economic globalization as consequence of an increase in each dimension analyzed. Trade is the most important economic dimension. In terms of migration and tourism, it is also notorious a significant augmentation, although it is not even close to the result obtained in trade. Regarding to countries globalization, USA can be detached as the most globalized country for migration as well as for trade. Concerning tourism, China is the most globalized country and is followed by USA. Thus, it can be said that USA is the most globalized country in economic terms.
