Summary: | The present essay addresses the vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 in Brazil, the political-administrative, logistical and ope- rational challenges for its operationalization, with special attention to how this process took place among health workers, as well as the results and responses to action. To this end, the authors used official data available on the websites of the Ministry of Health and also relied on other secondary sources (technical notes, reports and other ministerial directives). The difficulties imposed by the denialism of the Brazilian federal government in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic are pointed out, with a consequent delay in the process of acquiring vaccines and their availability to professionals and workers in the health area. However, once these obstacles were overcome, there was a good adherence of this population group to vaccination, and it is still necessary to mobilize actions for the application of booster doses, as well as the performance of additional studies to evaluate its effectiveness in this specific group.
