Resumo: | This thesis aims to rehearse a methodology of intervention in built heritage through the research process and work inherent to the projectual act. This is about an intervention in a Palace built in the late nineteenth century, located at Rua Dom Paio Mendes, in Braga, which despite containing heritage value, is in an advanced state of degradation with the risk of losing several elements, if not its totality. Thus, this thesis is assumed also as an opportunity to record and register a building off which there is almost no information. The work focuses on two components, one theoretical of the contextualization and a practice one wich consists mainly of drawings. These two components are divided into three interconnected chaptors and divided into sub-chaptors, which correspond to the exposure of different contents addressed during the development of the project. First a contextualization of the place and the object of study; Second a moment of knowledge gathering that will support the project; and finally an analysis of the existent wich later formalizes into a intervention proposal.
