Summary:The climate request is one of the main responsible by the existence of water inside building materials and it creates the ideal conditions for the appearing of several pathologies. It is of the most importance the characterisation of the materials in what concerns water transfer in its interior, the moisture has great inlfuence in the durability, the degradation of its appearance and the thermal performance of the materials.In the present work we have analysed various quantification methods of the wind-driven rain and the wind pressure on the walls.Using a moisture measurement device based on the principle of attenuation gamma-ray installed at Physical Laboratory of Buldings from FEUP - Engineering Faculty of OPorto's University - we have developed one prototype to simulate the action of the wind on the wetting and we have studied the evolution of the water contents profiles the advance of moisture front and the wetting flow.The analysis of the experimental results have allowed us to conclude that the influence of the wind pressure on wetting building materials with diameter pores of 1 um doesn't have any meaning. The moisture distribution profiles are identical for this building materials in horizontal wetting with 2000 Pa and vertical wetting.Key words: Moisture, moisture migration, capillary, porosity, porometry, moisture measurement, climatic solicitation
