Summary: | This paper emerges from an intervention project applied in a TEIP school, in the school year 2013/14, integrated in a master’s degree in Educational Sciences. The intervention project consisted in the monitoring and evaluation of a project named X which tried to fight indiscipline and promote academic success, so that its effectiveness might be evaluated. The investigated data enabled us to conclude that “project X” has not completely achieved its aims. It has failed to contemplate the necessary change of paradigm in its genesis as far as organizational practices and educational processes are concerned. The teachers´ speeches continue mirroring a low reflective professional culture which systematically invoke external causes as explanation for pedagogical failures. The project also revealed a lack of commitment of the people who have participated in it. We also concluded that schools need to promote a culture of collaborative work in order to plan, regulate and evaluate educational actions. They also need to encourage dynamics which will enable a sustained culture of organizational innovation. |
