Summary: | Abstract COVID-19 has had a great impact on higher education due to the fear of contagion. This study aims to present an adapted version of the Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S) designed by Ahorsu et al. (2020) to the context of face-to-face learning: Fear of COVID-19 Scale for Face-to-Face Learning (FCV-19S-FL). The FCV-19S was translated into European Portuguese and adapted to the context of face-to-face learning, resulting in a 9-item scale. The sample consists of 534 university students. An explanatory factor analysis and a reliability analysis were used to determine the psychometric properties of the scale. The FCV-19S-FL has demonstrated good reliability (α= 0.904) as well as good internal consistency of both factors (Factor 1 α = 0.878; Factor 2 α = 0.842). The FCV-19S-FL has a two-dimensional structure with robust psychometric properties and has proved to be reliable and valid for the assessment of fear of COVID-19 in the specific context of face-to-face learning. |
