Resumo: | The performance of hydrodynamic journal bearings can be significantly affected by lubricant supply conditions (namely groove geometry and location, and supply pressure). The crown bearing is a particular type of journal bearing in which the supply groove is located on the load line. There are no comprehensive design data available specifically applicable to this type of bearing. In this paper design charts of load capacity, power loss and flow rate for crown bearings are presented. They have been construted using data obtained from a theoretical analysis taking full account of lubricant supply conditions. |
