Summary: | Rural tourism (both physical and emotional experiences) has been increasingly sought after for a multitude of reasons. The personalised encounter between places, people/culture and guests, characteristic of rural accommodation and the village context, can play a central role in the quality of the experience of tourism in these areas. If so, understanding the profile of the tourist in Portuguese rural areas becomes increasingly relevant from a research perspective. In this study, using an online questionnaire with a sample size of 133, we look at the case of the rural tourism in the “Quadrilátero do Minho” Region.
