Summary:Based on my PhD research, which studies on the visual representations of Portuguese cultural identity in the Arts and in the economic circuit, I focus on the commerce that takes Portugal as an object of consumption. Using the brand and products of A Vida Portuguesa’s stores and tourists souvenirs, I intend to understand, in terms of visual culture, the educational potential that both contain, as well as the risks they entail. Nonetheless, I defend the relevance of a critical approach to this dangerously hot topic
