| Summary: | O estudo a realizar consiste em compreender de que forma relações de objeto internas mais desajustadas e, possíveis falhas de desenvolvimento do self daí provenientes, poderão influenciar a adoção de determinados estilos defensivos. Sendo que o sujeito se desenvolve à luz de uma matriz relacional co-construída, também a escolha do tipo de relacionamento amoroso na vida adulta será influenciada. A amostra será constituída por sujeitos com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e os 45 anos de ambos os sexos, de nacionalidade portuguesa e que estejam ou já tenham estado numa relação amorosa. Para a concretização desta investigação quantitativa será necessária a utilização dos instrumentos: Inventário de Memórias de Infância (EMBU), Inventário de Necessidades de Objeto do Self (SONI), Inventário de Mecanismos de Defesa (DMI) e Inventário de Tipos de Relacionamento Amoroso (ITRA); Love as a potential savior or executioner of self development: Impact of object relations, self needs and mobilizing resources for choosing a loving partner Abstract: This study proposes to understand how disturbed internal object relations and, possible self’s developmental flaws, may influence the adoption of certain defense styles. As the subject develops in the light of a co-constructed relational matrix, so the choice of the type of love relationship in adult life will be influenced. The sample consists of individuals aged between 18 and 45 years of both sexes, with portuguese nationality and who are or ever have been in a loving relationship. To achieve this quantitative research will be necessary to use as instruments: Inventory for Assessing Memories of Parental Rearing Behavior (EMBU) Self Objects Needs Inventory (SONI), Defense Mechanisms Inventory (DMI) and Inventory Types of Loving Relationship (ITRA).
