Summary: | In recent years, there has been a tremendous technological and digital development and innovation that, consequently, led to its increasing influence on markets and economy. The fast growth of the digital economy, driven by the appearance and expansion of digital platforms, has continuous created new challenges for competition agencies. In this context, digital platforms have gained extreme importance in the world economy and in the consumers daily life, resulting in the emergence of new challenges for competitive policies and laws regarding the definition of methods and the revision of legislation to regulate and control the way they behave. This dissertation seeks to explore the theme of consequences of digital platforms in Competition Law, analyzing their distinctive characteristics and questioning how law and competitive policies are being interpreted and enforced.
