| Summary: | Em 2009, a Ribeira Grande de Santiago foi classificada como Património da Humanidade, tendo sido propostas, tal como antes desse momento, algumas soluções patrimoniais e museológicas, até hoje sem efeitos visíveis porque descontextualizadas e minimalistas. Neste contexto, deve salientar-se o esquecimento a que têm sido votados os bens ambientais. Atendendo a este panorama, o texto propõe-se executar um diagnóstico, identificar problemáticas e veicular propostas, articulando as intervenções efetuadas, avaliando a situação presente e perspetivando o futuro. Consideramos que só assim será possível elaborar um Programa de Reconversão Patrimonial e Museológica. Apesar de nos referirmos a todas as tipologias de património, o imóvel será aquele cuja interpretação terá de ser melhor pensada, em virtude de subsistirem escassas pré-existências intactas, sendo por isso necessário conceberem-se estratégias conducentes a permitir as suas plenas inteligibilidade e fruição. A condição de Sítio Cultural Vivo obedece a determinadas condicionantes a ponderar no decurso deste trabalho. Todavia, aquelas que têm de ser devidamente acauteladas serão a não interferência no quotidiano e modo de vida da sua população, e o seu envolvimento na salvaguarda da primeira capital de Cabo Verde. A investigação a que nos propusemos percorreu etapas transversais a várias áreas do saber, concluindo-se com a apresentação de um projeto patrimonial e museológico que fundamente uma estratégia de notoriedade devida a este Lugar de Memória; ABSTRACT: Ribeira Grande de Santiago. Heritage and museological strategy: diagnosis, problems and proposals In 2009, Ribeira Grande de Santiago was classified as a World Heritage Site, and, as before, some heritage and museum solutions were proposed, even now without visible effects because they are out of context and minimalist. In this context, it must be pointed out the neglect to which environmental goods have been voted. Regarding this panorama, the text proposes to carry out a diagnosis, identify problems and convey proposals, articulating the interventions made, assessing the present situation and looking ahead to the future. We believe that this is the only way it will be possible to develop a Global Heritage and Museum Appreciation Program. Although we refer to all types of heritage, the built will be the one whose interpretation will have to be better thought, due to the existence of few intact pre-existences, due to it, it is necessary to conceive leading up strategies to allow its full intelligibility and enjoyment. The condition of Living Cultural Site obeys certain conditions to be considered in the course of his work. However, those which must be properly taken care of will be the non-interference in the daily life and way of life of its population, and its involvement in safeguarding the first capital of Cape Verde. The investigation that we set out took steps across several areas of knowledge, concluding with the presentation of a heritage and museological project that underlies a strategy of prominence which this Place of Memory deserves.
