| Summary: | A Força Aérea (FA) tem vindo a utilizar e a acompanhar a evolução de alguns Sistemas de Informação Geográfica em duas vertentes distintas: gestão patrimonial e planeamento de missão. A divulgação e o interesse por plataformas web de distribuição de informação geográfica (IG) tem sido crescente, como é o caso do Sistema de Informação de Infraestruturas (SIINFRAS). No entanto, os objetivos iniciais desta plataforma não dão total resposta às necessidades atuais da FA. Neste contexto, esta investigação pretende analisar o estado atual do SIINFRAS, as possibilidades de partilha de IG e de interoperabilidade de sistemas de informação e desenvolver uma concetualização de um novo Projeto SIG com recurso a Geospatial Freeware Open Source Software (GFOSS). Os resultados revelam que é viável implementar novas soluções GFOSS na FA, com novas capacidades e trabalhando simultaneamente o seu desenvolvimento numa perspetiva mais sinérgica quanto à utilização de IG dentro da Organização. Abstract: The Portuguese Air Force (PoAF) has been using and monitoring the evolution of some Geographic Information Systems in two different ways: asset management and mission planning. Disclosure and interest in geographic information (GI) distribution web platforms has been growing, as is the case of Infrastructure Information System (SIINFRAS). However, the initial objectives of this platform don’t give full response to current PoAF's needs. In this context, this research aims to analyze the current state of SIINFRAS, the possibilities of sharing GI, interoperability of information systems and develop a conceptualization of a new GIS project using GFOSS (Geospatial Freeware Open Source Software). The results show that it is feasible to implement new GFOSS solutions, with new capabilities and working simultaneously in a more synergistic perspective development on the use of GI within the organization, contributing to a more capable fulfillment in several activities related to infrastructures.
