Description
Summary:This version presents images in negative of Marcel Duchamp’s “Boîte de 1914” notes and an attached envelope containing “Caixa de 1914” notes by Wallace Masuko. The “Boîte de 1914”, an edition of 3 copies, contains the reproductions in black and white photographs of 2 drawings and 16 handwritten notes between the years of 1912 and 1914, all glued on a standard size (18 x 24 cm) packaged in 3 boxes of Jougla, Kodak and Lumière photographic plates. Duchamp collected reproductions of notes handwritten by him in 3 separate boxes, published throughout his life: the "Boîte de 1914" in 1914, the "Boîte verte" ("La Mariée mise à nu par ses célibataires, même.") in 1934 and the "Boîte blanche" ("A l'infinitif") in 1966. These notes appear as a kind of subtitle in the artist's work.
